How to Release Financial Anxiety When Spending More than We Should with EFT Tapping
Have you ever wondered why spending money- even on good things- can trigger so much stress?
In episode 3 of the Tapping into Emotional Freedom Podcast, we meet Nellie, who opened up about her struggle with spending more than she’s supposed to, especially on self-development resources. The pressure to “make up the difference” has been weighing her down, leading to some financial stress.
Let’s get real: financial anxiety can feel like you’re carrying a boulder on your chest. For Nellie, that pressure was a solid 8 out of 10- an almost suffocating sensation. But as we dove into the session, something incredible happened. Through EFT Tapping and acknowledging her emotions, that overwhelming tightness eased, dropping down to a 5. That’s not just a small win- it’s a big step toward reclaiming peace.
During the session, Nellie’s memories took her back to a moment that might seem small but was deeply significant. She recalled seeing a gorgeous blouse in a shop window as a young girl- something she wanted but couldn’t afford at that time. This memory bubbled up naturally as her nervous system connected her current financial worries to a past moment of feeling deprived or insecure. It’s a common occurrence during EFT Tapping sessions, where our past experiences subtly influence our present reactions.
While we didn’t fully explore that memory in this particular session, in a full session, we would dive deeper into it to create a stronger cognitive shift. These deeper insights can be the key to understanding and transforming the root of our current stressors and resolving a deeper issue.
The episode wrapped up with one last round of tapping, anchoring the progress Nellie made. That chest pressure? By the end, it dropped from an 8 to a 2. She walked away feeling more at ease with her financial decisions and even more open to exploring EFT Tapping as a tool for handling money-related anxiety.
