How to Beat Procrastination and Overwhelm with EFT Tapping
Let’s talk about something that sneaks up on all of us- procrastination. You know, that frustrating little gremlin that makes you suddenly fascinated by scrolling through social media or spending too much time tweaking a post when you’ve got a big deadline looming? 😅 We’ve all been there, and trust me, you’re not alone.
In the latest episode of Tapping into Emotional Freedom, I had the pleasure of working with Mary Jane, who was struggling with that all-too-familiar combo: procrastination and overwhelm. She’s got the skills, the resources, and the drive, but somehow, when it comes time to tackle those important tasks, distraction creeps in and steals the show.
Mary Jane described it perfectly: "I know what to do. I’m prepared, I’m equipped, but then I get distracted, and things don’t get done the way I want." Sound familiar? The cycle of having everything you need to succeed but getting caught up in everything except what matters most is a trap many of us fall into.
But here’s the good news- this doesn’t have to be your story forever.
During our EFT Tapping session, we focused on shifting Mary Jane’s mindset from feeling scattered and overwhelmed to gaining clarity on what truly mattered. And guess what? It worked! After just a few rounds of tapping, that mountain of tasks started to look more like a series of achievable steps. The overwhelm started to fade, and suddenly, Mary Jane wasn’t just prepared and equipped- she was excited to dive in and get things done.
By the end of our session, Mary Jane was feeling a sense of calm and readiness. She told me, "I couldn’t wait to tackle what’s on my list- I know I can complete it today." And the next day? I got a message from her saying she did complete her tasks, with a sense of calm and focus that carried her through the day.
Here’s the truth: Procrastination isn’t a sign of laziness or incompetence. It’s often a signal that something deeper is at play- whether it’s fear, overwhelm, or simply not knowing where to start.
EFT Tapping can help you get to the root of what’s holding you back and transform those feelings into motivation and clarity.
